Med First Sees Revenue Uplift with AI Coding Solution, Setting Financial Groundwork to Expand Footprint by Nearly 2X

SAN FRANCISCO
Arintra, the leading GenAI-native autonomous medical coding platform for healthcare organizations, today announced new outcomes from its partnership with Med First, one of the leading primary and urgent care provider groups in North and South Carolina, seeing more than 220,000 patients a year. Since implementing Arintra’s autonomous coding solutions via the athenahealth Marketplace, Med First reported a revenue uplift of more than 6 percent.
With a limited number of certified coders on staff, Med First previously relied on its providers to accurately code claims, significantly increasing the risk of missed revenue. With Arintra, Med First has standardized and automated its coding practices, strengthening its compliance framework. The revenue increase from the partnership has reinforced Med First’s financial foundation as it works toward expanding from 27 to approximately 40 locations, helping broaden access to essential primary and urgent care services across its communities.
“Throughout the rollout of Arintra’s solutions, our teams collaborated closely, maintaining clear communication and a shared commitment to accuracy at each phase,” said Wes Edwards, Chief Financial Officer of Med First. “ Every step of the implementation was carefully planned and executed, ensuring seamless integration with Med First's operations. As an organization, we know we are no longer leaving money on the table, and now, we can scale with the strong foundation necessary for success. We look forward to expanding our partnership as we continue to open up new locations and provide care to more patients.”
As Med First sought to optimize its coding practices, the organization was simultaneously transitioning to a value-based care model, introducing more detailed and complex documentation requirements that only increased the burden on physicians. Arintra’s implementation team worked closely with Med First to tailor their solution to align with these needs, ensuring every coding decision was transparent and easy to trace so that compliance could be proven, not just assumed. Beyond compliance, Arintra’s technology also improved documentation integrity while integrating seamlessly into existing clinical workflows, ensuring no disruption to day-to-day operations.
“Compliance is critical to everything we do,” said Nitesh Shroff, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Arintra. “The regulatory requirements are constantly changing, and it’s becoming more difficult for providers and coders to keep pace. By automating coding and simplifying documentation, we’re also helping teams work more efficiently. Burnout is one of healthcare’s most persistent challenges, especially in the primary care setting, and eliminating administrative friction every opportunity we can is our best chance to solve it.”
Arintra will be exhibiting at the athenahealth Thrive Summit 2025 conference in Nashville and celebrating four years on the athenahealth marketplace. The company will also be co-hosting a webinar with athenahealth on November 19th titled "How Med First Unlocked Over 6% Compliant Revenue with Arintra."
